Tandberg was for very many years a cornerstone enterprise in Norway. The enterprise was founded in 1933 by the young electro technician, engineer Vebjørn Tandberg, the son of a margarine industry director located in Bodø north of Norway. In the thirties, Tandberg began to make radio tuners inspired of german Telefunken.

I owned some of the Tandberg stereo receivers, most of them in late 70's. If I recall it right, there was this distinctively warm sound to them, almost with eyes closed one could tell it is a Tandberg. Plenty power. I liked the TR 2055, a lot. I particularly fancied the tenderness to the high tones.
